The Occupation Health and Safety Legal Framework course is an essential resource for all managers charged with the responsibility for the Health and Safety of Mpact employees. Welcome to Module 2.1 of several modules in the series. This module covers the following topics:

• The various sections of the OHSAct with a focus on those most applicable to the Mpact environment:
  • Section 7: Health and Safety Policy
  • Section 8: General duties of employers to their employees
  • Section 9: General duties of employers to persons other than their employees
  • Section 10: General duties of manufacturers
  • Section 13: Duty to inform
  • Section 14: General duties of employees
  • Section 15: Duty not to interfere with or misuse things
  • Section 16: Chief Executive Officer charged with certain duties

Each topic comprises a short video lesson and text transcript of the most relevant information you require to effectively understand and carry out your health and safety responsibilities.

This course is run as a blended learning model, with two components:

1. The e-Learning, theoretical component, and
2. The classroom, applied, or practical component.

By familiarizing yourself with the relevant theory through this short module, before entering the classroom sessions, you will be primed to get the most out of the applied, and practical classroom sessions, to enhance the overall learning experience.

You will also have ongoing access to the theory, relevant laws, and updated information, through your e-Learning portal. Having this information at your fingertips is invaluable for the everyday management of Occupational Health and Safety at Mpact.

Through the e-Learning portal, you will need to demonstrate your level of understanding, through a knowledge quiz at the end.
