Welcome to module five of this Personal Mastery Programme, Building Resilience! This is your e-learning component of this blended model module, introducing you to the topic of building resilience. Please be sure to complete this prior to arriving into the scheduled contact session, so you are ready to discuss the main concepts.  Note that this module may be completed as a stand alone module whether you are on the blended model programme or not.

  • Understand what resilience is, and why it's important
  • Identify the personal attributes displayed by resilient people
  • Explore certain myths around resilience and resilient people, to understand that resilience is something that we can, and should all develop
  • Explore your own personal resilience, leading to an understanding of how, and why you respond to adversity in certain ways
  • Understand the 5 pillars of personal resilience and how to reinforce them
  • Explore the relationship between resilience and self awareness and how self awareness can lead to better decision making
  • Practice skills towards developing self awareness

• The course was a good match for me as I sometimes struggle with resilience however, I now know that taking an honest look at myself can give me the insight I need to remain resilient.
I learnt the importance of being a Resilient employee and benefits of using resilience skills.
Learnt to practice self-care, being kind to myself and finding a healthy work-life balance. Practice healthy habits. Find strategies to overcome conflicts and maintain healthy professional relationships.

I now know the two predictors that affect my resilience which are:
1. Self-awareness- Understanding my emotions, behaviors, and tendencies as a first step to increase my resilience.
2. Outlook- The attitude with which I approach challenges.
